Post subject: | Dumbledore's Announcements - May 5th 2014 |
On Sunday May 5th, Dumbledore made a series of announcements to the students living at the Ministry over breakfast. First, he announced that the long reconstruction of Hogwarts castle had begun. While there was no completion date set as of yet, he was hopeful that an end to their displacement was in sight. Second, he announced the memorial for those who died in the attacks on the school, Hogsmeade and the Ministry. The memorial will be held on Saturday the 10th of May ((roughly 11 pm EST/8 pm server time)) in the gardens at Saint Mungo's Hospital. Appropriate attire is expected(house robes are acceptable), and facilities to change out of muggle street clothes will be provided at the hospital. Any students who wish to attend may, regardless of year. Students are invited to speak at the memorial, either about Professor Moody or anybody else who died that day. ((We ask that you let a main plot DM(Yendys, Calan or JB) know if your character intends to speak at the memorial. It's not necessary for us to approve it, but if your character would speak we want to make sure that you have the chance to make that happen.)) Lastly, he announced that the Magical Law Enforcement department had opened an accelerated NEWT study program designed to pull recruits from the group of 7th year students. Students who successfully enrolled in the program would leave school and begin a course of intense study, ultimately taking the NEWT exams early and beginning their MLE training while their classmates were still studying. Students who wish to apply to be considered for this program were instructed to contact their head of house. ((As of now, MLE is the only career path that this program is set up for. Any 7th year may apply for the program, but there is no guarantee that they will be accepted. If accepted, understand that the student will now be post-grad. They will no longer be enrolled at Hogwarts, and may not freely visit school areas. Once accepted, there is the possibility that the student may flunk out, due to low NEWT scores or other reasons. If so, other opportunities for further study may be available, but returning to Hogwarts is not an option. Choosing to enroll in this accelerated course is a permanent character choice that should not be entered into lightly.)) |
