What dueling format does the HDC use?The HDC (Hogwarts Dueling Championship) uses the HCS (Hogwarts Championship Standard) format. Special considerations are as follows:
- All fighters in a bout must be of the same year unless agreed upon by both managers
- No summoning of creatures or weapons (Summon Creature, Shelgarn's Bade, et cetera)
- Physical violence is absolutely off-limits (attacks of opportunity and touch-magic excepted)
- Dark Magic is absolutely off-limits (Inflict Wound, Evard's Tentacles, et cetera)
- Fighters fight in ten round bouts with best six out of ten winning
- There are no draws - First competitor down loses the round
What is the management format used by the HDC?The HDC (Hogwarts Dueling Championship)
does not admit fighters without managers. Fighters
can not self-manage. Each fighter-manager team earns a grant equaling 45% of admission fees with the remaining 10% covering cost. Fighter-manager teams are to be registered in writing to
Seville Fighting Enterprises (either PM or post to this thread).
What are the benefits of fighting in the HDC?The HDC (Hogwarts Dueling Championship) is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring duelists to earn grant money, training and dueling history that may prove useful when attempting to join a professional dueling team.
How are bouts organized? The HDC (Hogwarts Dueling Championships) schedules bouts with input from involved fighter-manager teams. There is an entry fee to spectate (10,000 NWN gp), with fighter-manager teams excepted. All additional training/managing staff must pay entrance fees. This is
not a gambling operation. Competitors earn grants regardless of results. There will be an introduction ceremony for both fighter-manager teams and then the first five rounds begin, followed by a halftime show, then the final five rounds. The first competitor to six wins is belted champion.
