Post subject: | Start of Term Event Question |
Hey guys, we're closing in on the end of August, and as those who've been around for a few years know, that means it's almost time for our annual start of term/house cup award feast, which usually takes place in the last week of August or the first week of September. It will be announced in the usual thread with a couple of days warning, don't worry! For now, I have a simple question to put to you guys. Due to the timey wimey nature of the mod, we don't force anybody to year up, RP repeating years, or any of that nonsense. Rather, we simply RP that there was a short break that happened(offscreen while you were logged out), and everybody has just come back to Hogwarts after a nice relaxing(or not, depending on your home life) time away, the same year as when they left. My question is, is there interest in starting the RP on Platform 9 3/4 and RPing the train ride, or would you guys prefer to leave that part offscreen and start RP from running into each other after settling in at school? I seem to remember having done it both ways in the past, and I'm not committed to either way. If the poll doesn't work, leave a reply in the thread! |

I'm mostly indifferent but I'd be down with the experience on my new toon. Something to start off her 2nd year with. |

I'm selfishly requesting this be done sometime between Aug. 30th - Sept 2nd arrives or my character probably can't attend! :/ But it sounds like fun to me whenever it goes down. |

It's not going to happen this weekend, sorry Ree. Maybe you can still come on for a little bit? So it's looking like people want the train. The main reason I decided to poll is, I've received feedback in previous years that this event tends to run too long. The trade off if we get the train RP tacked onto the front is, we're going to be either running later or starting off earlier. Probably should have mentioned that in the top post, whoops. If anyone would change their yay, let me know. |

Could you make a countdown for us all? http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/create I'm of the opinion that the longer the better in terms of events... If it's fun, anyway, and it'll be a great opportunity to get everyone together. |

I second Reebober's date request. I can probably make it regardless, but that's easiest for me. Also I will be planning on making my new firstie then. |

I have a firstie to start, so it would be really cool to have the whole train thing. Not too early though, please. XD |

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be around 30th-1st. 2nd, maybe. If that helps at all! |

There's not going to be a date and time that works for everybody. BF and Calan/Ree are mutually exclusive, for example. Charity, if I make it late enough for you, people like Annie and Vuk won't be able to attend, because it will be too late for them. I am going to try to put in on a weekend, to minimize the impact if somebody stays up late for it, but that's about all I can do as far as making things work. This was just meant as a "streamline the event or leave it expanded" poll, not a "get everybody's dates and times and make it work for all the people" poll, because that is 100% impossible. |

Now I'm confused though. The 9th isn't a Saturday. |
