The four DM's that it took to do this event needed to coordinate schedules, and -that- is really what decided the time. Not even which players would be available. Put simply, this could not have happened two hours earlier. In fact we were late getting going as it was, working as fast as we could to start.
But most importantly, and I feel I need to be painfully clear on this:

I have a point here, for Alex. A very good point, but, it does hurt me deep inside to say it:
This is just a game.
A game among many other games. So if this game doesn't suit you, I'm sure there are other games that will.
Even if we all know deep inside HP is the best thing since sliced bread.

Thank you to everyone who made it to the ball! The gingerbread houses were deliciously good looking, same goes for the dresses/tuxes.
We GM's running it had a great time, mostly because we love fun/different interactions with you lot.
*Hugs all around*

Sorry to revive a topic that hopefully was getting put away....
Everyone thank Tsunami and Jinx for derailing another post-work rant from me.
If it makes the people complaining feel any better, I didn't have the opportunity to do anything Ball-related either, since I had to close last night.
For the record, I was trying to log in for this morning to do something Ball-related for people (even if it was just having random professor possessions), but I was unable to log in as a DM. Jinx is my witness.
I would volunteer to run something in the morning, but I'm probably going to be getting called in to work four hours early, so I'm not going to promise anything.

Okay, I need to make my peace as things are much clearer after the event.
Fair enough if DMs were only able to all be online then, even if it wasn't convenient for Europeans although I still believe some European DMs should deffinately by hired. I'm sure there's plenty of Europeans that would make good DMs... like Paul!
Secondly, Seril, before Christmas I was on quite a bit. I've just been busy since then.
Rakashak, never once have I said this game doesn't suit me and I don't think a simple inconvenience of time zones means the game doesn't suit me. I love HPNWN and wouldn't wanna perminantly leave!

Paul who? Paul Millington's player? I don't think he's been online -once- since I joined the server six months ago. Not to mention that he's been banned. So unless I'm very wrong about that, I'm going to assume you are joking.

Firstly...he's banned....secondly...don't even joke.
I probably speak for more people than I realize when I say I would rather be shot, multiple times, and all of my PC's perma'd than have /him/ as a GM.
And like Seril, I never saw you online much. To be specific, I saw you online maybe once or twice. During the "European active times". I'm the 'rare' type of player that is on at pretty much any time, depending on my mood and what day it is.

*Actually sees "Paul" on almost daily.*
And for Alex being on or not, I saw him quite a bit more than that. But maybe I'm just good like that. Or maybe you suck, John.

You know better. I think I can count on one hand the times I can remember seeing him online in the past month, though.

I can't say about the last month. My sense of time is completely ******.. Four months ago feels like last week, Christmas feels like months ago..
